Here's a hodge podge of old pics. They take time to load so do some push ups or make a sandwich.

MagicTomcomSpeedMu1tracer.jpg (19140 bytes)  Lanna & Tom at The Speed Art Museum 1981. Back then I wore ballet slippers, a fancy dog collar instead of a Clorox bottle collar and did very few unpopular tricks. Let's see... the strait jacket escape and bird to live snake were Ken Knose's favorites. I would throw a fake snake into the audience after I produced the real one and then close with an appearing floating light bulb trick. That's cutting edge isn't it? Lance and Mac used to say the Strait Jacket Escape was corny, so I took it out of the show. Now Lance does it on his NBC TV specials; I guess it's wasn't that  corny.

MagicTomcomMerryMarty1tracer.jpg (6800 bytes)  This is the tiniest picture I could find of Marty Pollio. He worked at the old Merry Go Round night club also. He did mime and some good juggling back then but didn't talk much on stage. But he talked backstage so I knew it was just an act. He experimented back then with more music in his show to take advantage of the Merry Go Round's sound system & nice old wooden stage. I had met Marty in 1978 or 1979 through Ken Knose, and we both occasionally performed at The Phoenix Hill Tavern. Marty is an exceptional performer but not as funny as Ken Knose. Marty has a handsome young son and he fools around with computers. Very quiet and low key but always helpful and on the mark when it comes to helping improve your show persona. (That's sho-biz talk.)

MagicTomcomHibbsTracer.jpg (14157 bytes)  Larry & Maxine Hibbs. Back in the 1970's Larry was the most fun of all the magicians at Caufield's Novelty Shop. He fooled me each time I stopped in and was the one person that took time to show me you didn't need the $50 circus painted tubes to be entertaining. I was just a teenager and he could've talked me into buying Strat-o-sphere or the Indian Head Chest illusions. Instead I went home with the $7 color changing knives, learned sleight of hand and became a close up, finger flinger and winner of several small trophies. Larry has been a good friend to all the magicians here in Louisville. His help was appreciated when I bought my first computer & became hooked on flight sims.
