 | Tom
has been a featured act in comedy clubs. He has entertained on university
campuses and has taught magic for the University of Louisville's Continuing
Education classes on the Shelby Campus. "The Art of Magic &
Escape" was his first magic class, hosted one night by friends and
substitute teachers Mac King and Lance
Burton. Tom was featured that same
year in Louisville Magazine with a John Nation Pictorial. That pictorial
still lies at the bottom of his animal cages to intimidate livestock
unfamiliar with his early work. |
 | He
has
worked magic around the United States for industry trade shows performing tailored sales
scripts for companies and drawing the largest crowds. Company prospects get close to MagicTom
for a look at new products or technologies. They make a point to return to his exhibit
with friends, watching the audience reactions a second and third time.
|
 | Tom
has competed in the International Brotherhood of Magician's Gold Medal Competition and
Magi-Fest tm
Competitions... winning the hearts of his peers with his hilarious "Stumpy"
& "Stump Boy" magic comedy routines. His close-up magic was awarded first place in the prestigious Okito Ring 64 Louisville Magic
Club magic competitions, not once but three times, a feat never matched by
friends Mac King, Lance
Burton, Durbin Oldham, Don McGill, Delbert Hillegas,
Scott Carter
or Bob Escher.
He and his family remain in hiding to this day because of
pipe bomb threats from Mac King.. |
 | Children's shows
and charity shows have
always been a part of his work. In
the mid 80's he became a familiar face in Louisville's department stores; Stewart's,
Bacon's, L. S. Ayres & Hess's doing promotions for children. "Breakfast with Santa Claus" and " Breakfast with the Easter
Bunny" were among his favorite shows. The York fruitcake
show from May 2000 is a show still talked about. |
